Altar dedicated to Saint Eustache

The altar dedicated to Saint Eustache bears a panel depicting his martyrdom, originally commissioned from the Maltese sculptor Melchiorre Caffà. Unfortunately, Caffà died just as he began the work, and so the altarpiece was completed by Ercole Ferrata with the assistance of Giovanni Francesco Rossi ‒ the result is rather academic, far from the sculptural sensitivity of Caffà.

The ceiling with angels and emblems of Saint Eustache was designed by Ciro Ferri and executed by Ferrata.
